Council of Elders
One of the most important advisory bodies of FAGIC is the Roma Council of Elders. This consists of Roma over 55 years of recognized standing and authority within the Roma community. This is a consultative body that ensures and reconciles the changes in the Federation and vails for the preservation of Roma cultural traditions.
Among its key functions are:
- Guard the Roma tradition.
- Advice on how to the adapt to modern times values imposed on traditional customs of the Roma people.
- Mediating conflicts that may arise the Roma community and conflicts between the Roma and non-Roma.
The Orientation and conflict mediation is conducted by members of Roma Council of Elders, has a marked preventive sense and is of great importance for the Roma.
